Renewable energy developments are impacting the operations, lives and livelihoods of landholders, neighbours, First Nations communities, local governments and their communities.
I2S Industry Director Kirsty O'Connell and I2S Industry Fellow Dr Richard Parsons were with The Energy Charter in Dubbo, NSW this October to facilitate training on working with landholders and community engagement for the renewables sector.
As Renewable Energy Zones (REZ) and renewables infrastructure rolls out across Australia, a growing number of landholders are being approached to host renewable energy infrastructure on their land.
We were excited for our research implementation arm, Next Generation Engagement, to partner with The Energy Charter to deliver this important training for almost 60 renewable energy industry professionals.

Participants gained evidence-driven insights into the most common social and cumulative impacts facing renewables projects and key strategies and approaches that can build social value for local communities and landholders.
