Quality consultation should become as common as the safety standards we now expect from normal OHS procedures.

Her statement outlines five recommendations to improve community consultation.
Adopt place-based approaches to consultation.
Ensure quality of consultation through certification.
Remove requirements for non-disclosure agreements wherever possible.
Prioritise inclusive human interactions and long-term relationships.
Encourage and expect principles-based consultation, not compliance-based.
